APA Referencing Macros are Microsoft Word macros that will automate the referencing of essays etc. written to conform to the Style as set out in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, Fifth Edition (2001). They come with a document already formatted with the Title, Author, Institution, Header, Running Head, Headings, Subheadings, first line indent & double spacing. They can reference sources from Books, Reports, Brochures, Audiovisual media, Journals, Newspapers, Magazines, Book Chapters or Articles in a Collection, Translated Works, Entries in Encyclopedia (including CD-ROM), Non periodical Internet Documents, Parts of Non periodical Internet Documents, Articles in Internet Periodicals, Messages Posted to Online Newsgroups, Forums, or Discussion Groups & Internet Journal Articles from Databases. They will show you how to enter each different type of material ie Sentence case for Book Titles, Headline case for Journal Titles etc. They will add the appropriate reference to the References section, including the italics, hanging indent and double spacing, and the appropriate in-text citation. They will add quotation marks to short quotes and indent the paragraph for long quotes. They will save all your references with the document you create for subsequent in-text citation, no need to do all your referencing in one session. They will automatically insert the appropriate number of authors to list in subsequent in-text citations as per APA Style. They will sort the references with the click of a button
